Soohoh Special Exhibition (Art, Healing)

"Everyone is an artist." Joseph Beuys (1921–1986), who lived through the Second World War, chose art as his path to healing, pursuing "Fluxus" as an anti-art, anti-cultural movement emphasizing diversity, sociality, and communication. Beuys and Nam June Paik (1932–2006) both left a profound mark on later art through this idea of "social sculpture" — society itself as a work of art, ultimately an expanded concept of "healing."

Since 2002 Soohoh Gallery has run 251 sessions of art therapy and art-play therapy, operating as a space of healing for the socially vulnerable, the culturally underserved, and those weary from depression and isolation.
