Oh Hyun-ah's flower-filled canvases, built up with thick layers of oil paint, capture ordinary objects and flowers arranged and reassembled from everyday life. Rather than a fleeting bloom, the artist seeks to capture the moment of beauty at its peak and give it permanence. Her third solo exhibition at Soohoh Gallery in Bundang (following 2009 and 2010) opens May 21 and runs through June 4.
