Memento Mori: Memories of Life
Jan 30, 2026 – Mar 19, 2026 · 분당서울대학교병원 1-2동 1층

Memento mori is less a warning to remember death than a question about how we are passing through this life. This exhibition receives it as a language of thought that deepens our awareness of living: the fact that there will one day be an end makes the present hour sharper, and quietly turns us toward what we remember as we live.
Memory never remains in a fixed form. It blurs with time, overlaps, and arrives in the present transformed. Accumulated traces, repeated rhythms, scenes erased and re-emerging show memory to be a process continually reconstructed in time. The layers left on the canvas settle like the places of a life already lived, and the symbolic beings that appear above them touch the viewer's own memories without explanation — extending beyond personal narrative into folklore, the unconscious, and the grain of old stories.
