Lee Young-hoo Solo Exhibition

Lee Young-hoo expresses questions and observations about our history, life, and future through diverse means. In the CC series, the artist transfers conscious or unconscious thoughts from the mind into drawings, then digitally edits them into an appropriate arrangement to form a single mass. To sustain this mass, the artist attaches thin structural members to the design — like a city's scaffolding, the most essential element for maintaining the arrangement of the microcosm within. The work does not end when the piece is finished, but is designed, along with instructions for its fabrication and a security system preventing unauthorized use, so that its form, color, movement, and unity can persist and be maintained even after the artist's body is gone, in a space and time without the artist.
