Ahn Jung-yoon Solo Exhibition: We Are All Stars in the Sky

"We are all stars in the sky" — a phrase from Marcus Aurelius's Meditations, read by the artist after giving birth to her daughter, became the seed of this series. Small points of paint stand in for stars: for the artist, stars are life itself across time and space, carrying longing and hope. Painting a star, again and again, is an act of prayer for life and peace.

Ahn Jung-yoon studied sculpture in Korea (BA, MA) and fine art in the UK. Working at the meeting point of abstraction and figuration, influenced by surrealism and abstract expressionism, she paints symbolic images that invite quiet contemplation, offering comfort and healing through the recurring motif of stars as prayers toward the light of life.
