Nicolas Bourriaud writes in Relational Aesthetics that what matters in art is the ability to read a changed world and offer humanity a better way of living. I am interested in relationships and communication between people, and in how we ought to live as human beings — my work proceeds from the belief that there is no hierarchy among forms of life, only the way each of us regards our own.
Though my work deals with human stories, no human figures appear in it. Rather than direct expression, I borrow the form of fable — bright and playful on the surface, while carrying, underneath, a seriousness about life worth pausing over.
Through a Dépaysement technique of deliberately juxtaposed, contrasting images, the artist creates visual playfulness and ironic gaps while alluding to the harsh reality faced by contemporary people. In this artist's distinctive narrative where fantasy and reality intersect, we hope you experience a fresh way of seeing the nature of our relationships and our lives.
