Five Oceans, Six Continents: Eleven Roads Traveled

"Five Oceans, Six Continents: Eleven Roads Traveled" was conceived to present the experimental work of artists who reinterpret contemporary art in their own way for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and to reflect humanistically, psychologically, and philosophically on issues urgently demanded by our time — environment, society, an aging population. As the phrase "five oceans, six continents" points to the whole world, this exhibition hopes to show, through the diversity of art, the same diversity found across the world, seeking a path through the artists' own language toward the problems humanity faces globally — a language spanning painting, sculpture, media, and installation. The participating artists were all selected through Soohoh Gallery's annual Soohoh Artist Open Call and are capable practitioners in their own right. We hope this exhibition introduces Soohoh Gallery's artists to visitors, offers a chance to reflect on the spirit of our times, and provides healing through the work on view — seeking, through art, a path toward what makes a life philosophically valuable, both for humanity at large and for the individual.
