Mo Hye-jun Solo Exhibition 'Portrait of the Modern Person'

"Portrait of the Modern Person" examines how ideals of beauty are shaped and distorted by mass media, smartphone cameras, and photo retouching, tracing how celebrities' curated appearances become the aspirational standard people imitate — even to the point of cosmetic surgery. Painted on hanji (traditional Korean paper) with mineral pigment, absorbing color the way trends are absorbed by contemporary life.
