Jung Sung One: Echoes of Time

"A pure heart, icons of happiness." Jung Sung One proposes animals — rabbits, lambs, deer, elephants, horses, penguins — as icons of happiness. To human eyes, animals are unfailingly endearing and pure, and the happiness we feel on seeing them is a feeling we ourselves project onto them: the result of empathy, of a pure child looking at a pure animal.

In "Echoes of Time," these companions inhabit serene dreamscapes in oil, inviting viewers to dwell for a while in a purer, happier time of their own.
