2011 Abstraction Exhibition: Falling into Abstractionism
Jul 6, 2011 – Jul 31, 2011 · 수호갤러리 별관_수호롬 (G-23)

Abstraction is often considered difficult, requiring more time to understand and yielding many differing interpretations — but that openness is also what allows abstract art to broaden the spectrum of thought. This 2011 exhibition invites viewers to shed that preconception, featuring Chicago-based Byun Yong-guk's restrained color abstractions, the late Shin Sung-hee's cut-and-knotted canvases that extend painting into sculptural and installation space, Lee Ufan (showing concurrently at the Guggenheim New York from June 25), and works by Sung Sang-eun, Lim Sung-pil, and Cho Myung-sik.
