Mayuka Yamamoto
마유카 야마모토
Mayuka Yamamoto (b. 1964, Okayama, Japan) is a leading second-generation figure of Japan Pop, following Yoshitomo Nara and Takashi Murakami, active across Korea, Japan, Taipei, and Europe. Since 2002 she has painted children in animal costumes, using their cute exteriors to convey the hidden wounds and fears of childhood. She completed her master's at Musashino Art University and studied in London under a Japanese government overseas study program for artists.
