Marc Quinn

Marc Quinn (b. 1964, London) is a leading figure of the Young British Artists (yBa) whose work explores what it means to be human today. His flower works, rendered in vivid primary colors, realistic detail, and glossy surfaces, address the beauty of life alongside the mortality beneath it — suggesting that while both artist and viewer live finite lives, art achieves a form of permanence. He holds a BA in History of Art from the University of Cambridge and has held solo exhibitions at institutions including the Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing, the Museum of Islamic Art Qatar, and Somerset House, London.
