Je Mi-Young

Je Mi-Young works in stitched collage rooted in jogakbo, the traditional Korean patchwork technique, sewing hanji and fabric into patchwork landscapes of houses and flowers.
She studied Western painting at Dong-A University and Oriental painting at Hongik University (BFA, MFA). A Grand Prize winner of the Danwon Art Festival, she has held numerous solo exhibitions including "Patchwork Landscape" (Gallery Grimson, Seoul, 2020), "Gahwa — Wishes Dwelling in Houses and Flowers" (Suwon Art Center, 2016) and "Gahwamansaseong" (Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul, 2015).
